מִי הֶאֱמִין, לִשְׁמֻעָתֵנוּ; וּזְרוֹעַ יְהוָה, עַל-מִי נִגְלָתָה 'Who would have believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the LORD been revealed?'
I like how you describe what the Hebrew means in a particular passage. It is awesome to know that Israel carried on the breastplate has the meaning of individual people of Israel also. To me it shows more of how Messiah cares for each and every person represented on his heart, even before the throne of judgment.
ReplyDeleteGreg,
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% but I would like to offer another opinion to your point below. It has a reverse relationship. It is us who also suppose to "Carry" the messiah. Here is what I mean by that: It is written in 2 Corinthians 4:10
"We always carry around in our body the death of Yeshua, so that the life of Yeshua may also be revealed in our body"
As he continue to carry us and write us on his heart, we are to continue to carry him by representing him by taking his image and be in his likeness.
It is truly a partnership. He is so good that even when we don't carry him, he always carry us.
Yom Tov
Dear Rabbi...thank you for this extraordinary opportunity - I'm gaining a greater understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures and the revelation of the Messiah found in them. This is a great way to review and reinforce each week's Torah teaching. I believe G-d will greatly bless your efforts.
